This semester, 4th graders had the opportunity to participate in the Robotics after school club. Scholars learned how to apply math skills, like measurement and algebraic thinking, to developing programs that will make a robot complete a particular task. They learned how to use the light sensor and the ultrasonic sensor. Below are pictures of their culminating activity- SUMO BOT. Scholars had to build a robot that could battle the other robots. They had free choice over the sensors they used, or choose not to use, the program that ran the robot and the design. Can't wait to see what 5th grade comes up with in the Spring!
